newFreifeld: Pin and Doo go way back, and SnPLO (PLO Man, DJ Spence, Sentena) are pleased to join with Doo Montreal studio mate DJ Frog and special guest XDB at Open Ground to DJ party music for people to turn up to in their own way. It’s always hard to describe music with words but basically it’s party music and it’s deep too. Pin and Doo party the same way where we’re trying to be aware of what is going on in the room and get the loop going into something that rolls on its own. But there’s so much more to want from a party and a space.. What will the strengths be? But at the same time we want it to feel like a house party if that’s right. We don’t need it too formal despite all the angles in there. We’re going to be lugging some new records on the train - come early if you want to buy one and chat?….. ​Hopefully it can be the kind of thing where someone can come on their own and have fun, or feel like it wouldn’t be weird to come get in the mix. We’ll be out there too. Like in a way we’ll dissolve, like gatorade powder in water. But also really we’ll all just show up and do our thing because that’s all we can do. Delirium is a collective based in Essen, with members from across the Ruhr region and Düsseldorf. Over the years, we have hosted club nights, collaborated with like-minded collectives and cultural institutions, and contributed to a network of artists and organisers across NRW. Playing at Open Ground offers a chance to focus entirely on the musical side of Delirium. new1986 music’s core is essentially rooted in the Drum and Bass but since its inception, it has grown freely, breaking down genre barriers and inviting cross pollination. The essence of the collective encourages artists to experiment in areas they may not be familiar with, allowing for the spectrum to be broad and open. This is reflected in our label events with DJ sets covering many angles whilst retaining our identity. Playing those weird records, testing that new idea…. Our sound is modern and focussed on low end frequencies. What better way to hear those on one of the most reputable spaces in Europe? The primary focus in the space being sound reflects our ethos and we’re excited to experience that with everyone in the room. Having longer sets on the night will allow each artist to really dig deep and treat the night as a journey. SP joins us for a DJ set, bringing his own take on UK Garage / 2step, moving in and out of those lines. Alongside, we have Cesco who blurs genres with his minimalist productions and eclectic sets. A regular at Open Ground and 1985 events, Tasha returns with her genre defying sets tinged in Jungle, D&B, Techno and more. Last but not least, Alix debuts at Open Ground for a mixed set that motions through a hybrid collection of Dubstep/Garage/Techno infused tracks, as well as deep, soulful and rolling Drum and Bass that he is primarily known for. ​ Admission 30 €

newJoin Wuppertals young Label Ballett at its next event at Open Ground, with an atmospheric Night diving deep into bass related music. Local hero Matildnz will open the night with a tactile sense for touching bass sounds. Next up is C. Coiffure from Rennes, whose broad, forward-thinking approach to electronic music has made him one of the scene’s most exciting selectors. Closing the night is Ballett’s own Mauzius, bringing the label’s third club night at Open Ground to an atmospheric finish. Join us in the intimate setting where the project first took shape. Open Ground is giving the spirit of those parties a new home to continue a deep house journey on a soundsystem comparable in it's intensity to the high technical standard originaly set on US American deep house dancefloors like The Shelter . While remaining open to other genres, Recaved dedicates this night entirely to the more serious facets of the sound. No trends, just pure techno . PRUDE is a Wuppertal-based DJ and producer collective. Formed by DJ Frank, Maruhni and paaradoxx, PRUDE connects club culture with community work through events and workshops. newMzansi Bass at Open Ground celebrates the launch of the forthcoming compilation of the same name, curated by Shannen SP, to be released with Colombian label Tratratrax on the 12th of June. Built with 100% new material , Mzansi Bass centers artists pushing the boundaries of bass music in South Africa , spotlighting the continuum of radical invention coming out of the region’s electronic sphere. Exploring the hypnotic, darker, bassier sounds in between 3-step, Gqom and experimental Amapiano to form a succinct snapshot of the country’s unique soundsystem culture . Deeply rooted in Black African rave music from the local scenes of Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Pretoria, Shannen describes it as “electronic music that is embodied, trance inducing and deeply physical.” With a powerful line up featuring artists on the compilation, this party presents a unique offering of bass music . Durban’s gqom icon DJ Lag, who has collaborated with artists ranging from Moses Boyd to Novelist to Ape Drums and has taken his intoxicating brand of Gqom to clubs all over the world, from Seoul, to Colombia to New York. Shannen SP, whose sets platform the vanguard of the global club underground with recent tours in India and East Asia, and support slots for Arca, Batu and Jamie XX. State OFFF, the Zimbabwe-born and Amsterdam-based artist who has been igniting dancefloors worldwide with his bold productions and high-energy sets, blending Gqom, Baile Funk, Dubstep, and other global sounds , earning him a spot on Mixmag’s „Top 25 Artists to Watch in 2025.“ Expect to hear boundary pushing club music , hybrid genres and lots of unreleased material . Echidna strives to carve out spaces for musical expressions which challenge familiar forms, motivated by an unwavering desire to bring attention to the unnoticed - through deep bass, sharp rhythms, and music that refuses to quiet down. Echidna is not designed to comfort: we provoke collision to compose an ode to the unknown. Returning to Annex the third time, Echidna teamed up with Andras_2020’s event series Subtle Wreck. Subtle Wreck grows from a desire to deepen the presence of diasporic electronic music in European contexts, moving beyond the obvious and making space for more layered, experimental, and unsettled approaches to sound. Together, Echidna x Subtle Wreck channel their shared ambitions to curate a night that invites you to indulge in lurching amplitudes and unexpected danceability . Through live performances and DJ sets, the invited artists twist the frameworks of post-club and leftfield bass into a kaleidoscope of abrasive sound that refuses to quiet down. newA night shaped by experimental Detroit techno , genre-bending selections and a steady awareness of the dancefloor. Moving from hypnotic and stripped-back techno into house , jungle and raw machine-driven rhythms. For nearly ten years, Callshop Radio has been broadcasting live to the world. What began in a backyard in Düsseldorf as part of the interdisciplinary cultural space ROOOOOM has, over the years, evolved into an established community radio, building studios in Leipzig, Paris, and Vienna. The diversity of genres reflects the many facets of the scenes that Callshop Radio calls home. Alongside its ongoing radio program, events have always been a core part of the collective. Collaborations with festivals, clubs, museums, and concert venues create opportunities to bring the station’s hosts onto the stage beyond the studio. The focus remains on connecting artists from different locations and shaping events collaboratively. On June 13, the radio stays true to this vision: for the Annex Floor at Open Ground, alongside one guest and two residents from the Düsseldorf and Leipzig locations have been invited. Admission 25 €
