About the night
The night moves through early
Detroit
techno
and
Berlin dub techno
with
Fadi Mohem
and
Marcel Dettmann
, delivering a sound rooted in reduction, repetition and forward momentum. Long blends, rolling grooves and subtle shifts in intensity shape the flow of the night from start to finish.
Barulho World returns to Annex, bringing a curated night to Dortmund that moves between club culture and global sonic landscapes.
As a collective, Barulho World stands for a perspective on
electronic music that centers Afro-diasporic influences
and connects local scenes with international currents.
The musical focus lies on
Afro-electronic sounds
in their full range: from Afrohouse and
Afrotech
to
Gqom
,
Baile Funk
and
Kuduro
, extending into genre-crossing hybrid forms. Rather than fixed categories, the emphasis is on music as a connecting force.
A key part of this approach is the integration of live and hybrid elements. Through hardware, performative setups, or voice, the music remains immediate and closely tied to the moment. The dancefloor becomes not only a space for listening, but for experiencing performance itself.
With Frau Beji, Piccell and D[Nowhere]J, different perspectives come together, each embodying this approach and shaping the space both sonically and emotionally.
